The MicroVerse – Masks package adds the ability to stamp textures together as part of your terrain stamping process. These textures can be consumed by other assets, such as MicroSplat’s global tint textures, masks for snow, wetness, streams, lava, or any other data needed by external systems. These masks can be filtered by all of the MicroVerse filters, like height/slope/angle/curvature/texture, with the full compliment of falloff’s and noise of a MicroVerse stamp.
The mask module also allows you to store the internal buffers MicroVerse uses for data like curvature, masks, and SDF lookups. These can be used at runtime to do things like determine the distance from the nearest tree, etc.
All of these maps are updated in realtime as you work, allowing anything which uses this data to be updated as well.
INSTALL NOTE: There is currently a bug in the Unity Package manager which sometimes prevents the installation of this module. If you hit this, install the module before installing MicroVerse or join discord and register your invoice to get access to the GitHub repository directly, where it will install fine. This bug has been sitting in Unity QA’s queue for over 6 months without a response, and there’s nothing I can do about it.
